John Martino, a goalie, was on of the chief reasons why the F&M lacrosse team enjoyed outstanding success in the early 1970s. Coach Ross Sachs calls him the premier goal tender in F&M lacrosse history. With him in the "nets," F&M compiled a 36-3 record and was undefeated against Middle Atlantic Conference opponents while winning three straight MAC championships. He was a first-team MAC Conference selection for three years, and was named the conference MVP in 1974. He earned third-team Little All-American honors in 1974. His 221 saves in 1973 established a College record that still stands. John is the executive assistant to the Secretary of State of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
