F&M's dominant campaign culminated in the team's first NCAA Tournament match since 2014 with the squad falling short to SUNY New Paltz by a 3-0 tally on Nov. 9.

The Diplomats opened the 2018 season taking on some West Coast opponents at the Pacific Classic, hosted by Pomona-Pitzer. F&M continued a strong out-of-conference schedule, notching key victories against eventual NCAA qualifier Bethany (W.V) by a 3-0 score at the F&M Scramble on Sept. 28 and defeating regional-rival Susquehanna in a 3-2 showdown on Oct. 19.

F&M delivered an unbeaten CC record to earn hosting rights for the first time since 2013. The Diplomats took down Swarthmore, who had been ranked in the top-20 at multiple points in the season, by a 3-2 score on Sept. 26 and defeated Johns Hopkins in the regular-season finale on Oct. 27 by a 3-2 tally to bring the CC Tournament to Lancaster.

Head Coach Mary Kate Salko was honored as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year for the first time in her career and earned CC Coach of the Year for the second time. In her 16th season, Salko continued her legacy, notching her 300th career win with a 3-2 victory over Gettysburg on Oct. 10, ending the season with 306 wins. Salko is the only Conference coach to earn all 300 wins in the CC era. She became F&M's winningest coach in 2016, passing Steve Coulson (251).

The team's national dominance carried over into the postseason as several Diplomats were honored for outstanding play.
