LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Allison Franke and Grace Maggiore were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region First Team. Franke also earned Freshman of the Year for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Head coach Mary Kate Salko was named the Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year for the first time in her career.

Salko picked up the award after being named CC Coach of the Year for the second time in her career, also earning the honor in 2012. Salko led the Diplomats to a perfect 10-0 mark in CC action with a 23-7 overall record. Currently in her 16th season, Salko reached her 300th career win on Oct. 10 with a 3-2 victory over Gettysburg. Only two other Centennial coaches have reached that milestone.

Sophomore Maggiore (Chapel Hill, N.C. / Carrboro) was the first F&M player to earn multiple All-Region accolades since Caroline Hubbard '15. She was the seventh F&M player to earn Player of the Year honors with the last one being Julia Harvey '15 in 2013. She also landed on the First Team after earning Second Team recognition last season. Maggiore leads the Conference in service aces per set at 0.67 and ranks third in assists per set at 8.98. Nationally, she is eighth with 73 aces on the year and 26th after averaging 0.70 aces per set. This was Maggiore's second All-Region nod after the setter earned Honorable Mention last season. The nod was Maggiore's third postseason accolade to go along with her CC Player of the Year and First Team Honors.

Franke (McLean, Va. / Langley) was the first Diplomat to be named Freshman of the Year since Julia Harvey '15 in 2011. The right-side hitter was also the first CC Rookie of the Year for the program and 15th first-year in CC history to earn First Team honors. Franke leads the team in both kills per set (2.73) and total kills (284), which are good for ninth and fifth in the Conference, respectively. This was Franke's third postseason accolade as the first-year also earned the Centennial Conference's (CC) Rookie of the Year honors and was named to the First Team.

The Diplomats will take on SUNY New Paltz in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament Friday at 5:30 p.m. in Providence, R.I.
