Series History: F&M hosts Gettsyburg in a Centennial Conference (CC) clash on Wednesday evening, as the Diplomats look to win their fourth-straight match against the Bullets. F&M won last year's match at a narrow 3-2 score.
In the first contest of Saturday's trimatch, F&M takes on Dickinson, a team the Diplomats have owned over the years with a 44-7 mark, including the last eight matches.
The final matchup of the regular season will be a battle with Cabrini, a member of the Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC). F&M leads the all-time series at 8-3, but the Cavaliers took the most recent meeting by a score of 3-1 on Sept. 15, 2013.
Last Week: The Diplomats posted a 2-0 record last week, beating the host school, Washington, 3-1 before blanking Goucher 3-0 in a trimatch.
Against the Shorewomen, Ellie Ezekiel paced the F&M offense with an impressive 20 kills and 15 digs for a double-double, while Julie Harvey added 13 kills and Sarah Landry notched seven. Caroline Hubbard tallied 42 assists and 14 digs for a double-double, while Alyssa Sanchez recorded 15 digs.
In the nightcap against the Gophers, Ezekiel led the offense again with 11 kills and 14 digs for her second double-double of the day, while Harvey chipped in 11 kills and Landry added 10.
Hubbard Atop the CC: Hubbard upped her assists per set average to 9.36, good for second place in the conference. Washington's Taylor Horan still leads at 9.51.
Riding Solo: Harvey (77) is just three solo blocks away from Tara Ehst (1990-93), who recorded 80 and is sixth on F&M's all-time list. The program leader is Stacy Dunchick (1996-99) with 165.
In The Standings: Swarthmore (8-0), Haverford (7-1), Muhlenberg (7-2), and Johns Hopkins (6-2) maintain the top four spots in the CC, respectively. Gettysburg sits in fifth at 5-3, and F&M ranks sixth at 4-4. The Diplomats can edge their way into the fifth and final playoff spot with wins in each of their final two games.
