LANCASTER, pa. - Franklin & Marshall's Julie Harvey has been named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Honorable Mention. Harvey becomes the first Diplomat to receive the distinction twice, with the other coming after her freshman campaign.
Harvey continues to stockpile postseason accolades following an impressive junior year that included a spot on the AVCA Mid-Atlantic Region First Team and the second Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Year award in her career.
The junior middle hitter was second in the conference in hitting percentage (.358) and first in total blocks (104). Her 1.07 blocks per set average also ranked first, while her 3.31 kills per set was good for seventh.
Harvey led the Diplomats to a 24-6 record on the year that included a 10-0 mark in conference play. The Diplomats captured the CC Regular Season Title for the second-consecutive year before dropping a heartbreaking 3-1 match to Johns Hopkins in the semifinals.
