CARLISLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 sweep over Dickinson on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) play. The Diplomats improved to 22-4 and remained perfect in CC competition at 9-0, while the Red Devils dropped to 6-16, 1-8 CC on the year.
In the opening set, F&M dominated with a 25-12 win that was the result of a 13-kill, one error performance in the frame. The Diplomats continued their strong play in the second with an impressive 25-7 win. The double-digit victory in the set was the result of 10 kills and only a pair of errors on 21 attacks for F&M.
The Diplomats finished off the sweep with a 25-16 victory in the third. On the day, F&M racked up 35 kills and only eight errors on 85 total attacks.
Caroline Hubbard provided 28 assists over a span of three sets, while tacking on four digs and a service ace. Alyssa Sanchez led the defense with 16 digs, while Ezekiel was next with 15. Ezekiel also registered four blocking assists on the match.
The defense was in control throughout the contest, tallying three solo blocks and 20 assists while combining for 58 digs. Parys Zambas was strong from behind the line with three of F&M's four aces on the day.
The Diplomats return to action on Wednesday when F&M hosts Muhlenberg at 7:00 p.m.
