LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall middle hitter Julie Harvey has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Volleyball Player of the Week, announced Monday. The honor is Harvey's second of the season, with the last coming back on Sept. 3, and the fourth of her career.
Harvey guided the Diplomats to a 2-0 record on the week that included a 3-1 win over Johns Hopkins on Wednesday and a 3-0 sweep of Haverford on Saturday as F&M took sole possession of first place in the CC.
Over a stretch of two contests, Harvey registered a .472 hitting percentage while averaging 2.71 kills and 1.0 blocks per set. Against the Blue Jays, she picked up nine kills on 19 swings for a .368 hitting percentage to go along with two assists and an ace.
In a sweep of the Fords, Harvey hit at a .588 clip by notching 10 kills without an error in three sets, while filling out the stat sheet with two solo blocks and assisting on another three.
F&M returns to the court tomorrow when the Diplomats travel to McDaniel for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
