LANCASTER, Pa.—Franklin & Marshall won its third straight match Tuesday night, defeating Bryn Mawr 3-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action. The Diplomats (5-7, 3-0 CC) also snapped the Owls' four match winning streak.
F&M raced out to a 2-0 lead, posting 25-10 and 25-12 victories in the first two sets. The Owls (6-8, 2-1 CC) came back to take the third set 25-22, before the Diplomats closed out the match with a 25-14 victory in the fourth set.
Julie Harvey and Sydney Seydel paced the Diplomats attack, combining for 17 of the 37 kills the team had in the match. The Diplomats also tallied 16 service aces, led by Kerry Rom, Katy May, and Stephanie Armstrong with four each. Defensively, May and Lis Power led the way, teaming up for 15 of the squads' 36 digs. In addition, the Diplomats recorded 13 blocks.
Franklin & Marshall returns to the court tomorrow night when they visit Swarthmore in a rematch of the 2010 CC Championship match. The match begins at 7 p.m.
