Ward Named Outstanding Field Performer

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall senior Alyssa Ward was named Centennial Conference (CC) Outstanding Field Performer for her strong showing at last weekends CC Indoor Track & Field Championships. She also earned this honor for the spring 2017 outdoor season. 

Ward (Teaneck, N.J. / Tabor Academy) took home two individual golds, two relay golds, and one individual silver medal at this year's CC Indoor Championships from Feb. 24-25. She repeated as the triple jump champion with a distance of 11.22m and set a program record in the process. The senior was also the anchor for the top-finishing 4x200 meter relay team (1:48.76) and 4x400 meter relay team (4:08.09). Ward tallied a second gold, clearing a height of 1.55 meters to take first in the high jump and added a silver medal with a 5.17m distance in the long jump.  

The Diplomats finished with 55 points to place sixth in the CC standings.
