CARLISLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall competed in the Little Three Meet on Saturday at Dickinson to begin the 2015 spring women's track & field season. The Diplomats earned 98.50 points and finished third, while the host won the meet with 148 points and Gettysburg scored 126.50 points in second place.
Maya Jackson led F&M by earning two first-place finishes, as the sophomore won the discus throw with a distance of 129'-3.6" to break the previous Little Three record and she was victorious in the javelin throw at 120'- 11.97". Jackson was successful in the shot put as well, finishing third at 35'-7.6. Livia Meneghin also earned first-place points for F&M, winning the shot put with a throw of 39'-11.1" and earning third place in the discus at 114'-11.9", as well as a fifth-place spot in the javelin at 88'-3.4".
Alyssa Ward finished second in the high jump with a height of 5'-0.2", and Samantha Walmer was third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.1. In the 400-meter dash, Aleksandra Kiszka placed third at 1:05.26, and Olivia Bendit finished third in the 100-meter dash, crossing at 13.52. She added a second-place spot in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.08.
The Diplomats return to action next Saturday at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener.
