SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Sheena Crawley secured first place in the 800 meters to pace the Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team at the Paul Kaiser Classic hosted by Shippensburg on Saturday. There was no team scoring in the event.
Crawley earned gold in the 800 for the second straight week, crossing in 2:10.39 to top the next-closest runner by over two seconds.
Rebecca Swisher recorded the next-highest finish for F&M, claiming third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.46 meters. Arielle Van Wingerden also notched a solid placing on the day for the Diplomats, taking seventh in the javelin with a throw of 36.26 meters.
Livia Meneghin tossed the shot put 10.88 meters to grab ninth in the event, while Morgan Gray also posted a top-10 finish in the triple jump with a mark of 10.48 meters. Martha Stefaniak placed 12th in the discus at 33.94 meters, while Meneghin finished 14th at 33.21 meters.
The Diplomats open up competition at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championship on Friday at Ursinus.
