F&M Too Much for Washington in Key CC Tilt

LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's women's tennis team earned a clutch 7-2 win over Washington in a key Centennial Conference (CC) matchup at home on Saturday afternoon.

The win figures to have CC Playoff implications as the Diplomats improved to 6-5, 4-2 CC while the Shorewomen dropped to 5-6, 3-3 CC.

By the Numbers 

Doubles action saw the Diplomats storm in front at 2-1 in the team score with a pair of 8-4 wins at No. 1 and No. 3. The duo of Gavriel Rubenstein and Allison Wolters secured the victory at No. 1 while Marissa Witmer and Caroline Ulrich combined at No. 3 for the key victory. 

F&M dominated singles play with four sweeps, including Witmer's 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 5.

Saturday's win snapped a two-match winless streak against Washington and put the Diplomats in control of a CC Tournament spot.
