LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's women's tennis team begins the 2019 spring portion of their schedule on Saturday, Feb. 16, traveling to Fredericksburg, Va. to face a pair of the region's top teams.
The Diplomats open on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. against Mary Washington, who is ranked No. 4 in the Atlantic South region and No. 17 in the country, before battling Salisbury at 6:00 p.m.

Last year's squad garnered the program's fifth straight winning season and a fifth consecutive trip to the Centennial Conference (CC) Tournament. A tough 5-1 loss against Washington in the First Round saw the Diplomats season come to a close with a 9-8, 6-4 CC record.
F&M graduated just two seniors from last year's team, and welcome back a strong group of returners that include five regulars from the singles lineup. Being welcomed into the fold is a two-member class of first years who head into Lancaster with decorated high-school resumes.
Two-time All-CC First Team member for singles and the 2017 Centennial Player of the Year Allison Wolters returns to claim her No. 1 singles and doubles spot. Wolters was stellar last season in CC play with an 8-2 singles record.
The duo of Wu and Marissa Witmer teamed up at No. 3 doubles to produce an 8-4, 5-2 CC mark.
The Road Ahead
Following a three-match Spring Break stint in Orlando, Fla. on March 11-13, F&M travels to Ursinus on Thursday, March 31 for the Centennial opener.
The Diplomats host Haverford for their first home match of the year on Saturday, March 30, while the Conference Tournament begins with the First Round on Wednesday, May 1 and concludes with the Semifinal and Championship matches on May 4-5.
