FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The duo of Gavriel Rubenstein and Allison Wolters led a contingent of Franklin & Marshall women's tennis members at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships this past weekend, advancing to the Quarterfinals of the Doubles - Flight A bracket.
Rubenstein and Wolters got off to a strong start with a commanding 8-1 win over Mary Washington's Emily Bowerman and Rachel Cooper in the Round of 32. The pair followed with an 8-4 victory against a doubles team from Swarthmore, before falling in the Quarterfinals by an 8-2 score against Carnegie Mellon.
Alex Collins and Emma Wu also represented F&M in doubles action but came up short by a narrow 9-7 tally in their Round of 32 matchup against Salisbury. The duo bounced back in Consolations, defeating Dickinson's Lexi Epstein and Rachel Flame by an 8-5 mark to finish at 1-1 for the tournament.
Collins, Wu, Rubenstein and Wolters (ranked No. 14 in the singles bracket) each fell in their opening Singles - Flight A matchup. Wu followed by a Consolation round win, downing Washington & Lee's Claire Jackson (No. 5) by an 8-4 score.
