The fifth straight season with a winning record in Centennial Conference (CC) competition and a return to the CC Tournament for the fifth consecutive year offered examples of continued success for the Franklin & Marshall's women's tennis program in 2018.
F&M rebounded from a difficult 0-3 stretch that began the year, by securing five straight wins from March 14-April 5 which included the Diplomats opening Centennial play with a 3-0 record.
After locking up a CC Tournament birth with a 9-0 blanking over Muhlenberg on April 22, a tough 5-1 defeat against Washington in the First Round on May 2, brought the campaign to a close with a 9-8, 6-4 CC record.
Allison Wolters '19 and Sarah Haas '18 were each recognized for their stellar play on the court. For the second year in a row, Wolters garnered a spot on the All-CC First Team for Singles while she joined Haas on Second-Team Doubles.
Competing at the No. 1 position throughout the year, Wolters produced a team-leading 12-7, 8-2 CC record while she teamed with Haas as the Diplomats' No. 1 doubles duo to record a 12-7, 7-3 CC mark. The partners ranked No. 14 in the Atlantic South and placed second among Conference foes in wins.
In addition to Wolters' winning record in singles play, Emma Wu '19 tallied a 12-6 overall mark, competing at the No. 3-4 positions, while Alex D'Angelo '21 earned an 8-4 record, primarily at the No. 6 spot in the order.
