LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Allison Wolters was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Week for women's tennis, announced by the league office on Monday. The honor is the first of the season for a member of the Diplomats and the fourth of Wolters' career.
Wolters (Belle Mead, N.J. / Laurel Springs School) went 2-0 at the No. 1 singles position and 2-0 at the No. 1 doubles position last week for the Diplomats. She won each of her singles matchups in straight sets, downing Ithaca by a 6-3, 6-3 score on Wednesday, and followed with a 6-1, 6-2 rout of Scranton on Thursday.
In doubles competition, Wolters teamed with Sarah Haas to earn identical 8-4 victories against Ithaca and Scranton.
The Diplomats went 2-0 on their spring break trip and outscored their opponents by a 15-3 score. F&M opens CC play on Saturday, traveling to Ursinus for a 1:00 p.m. start.
