FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – A trio of Franklin & Marshall women's tennis players earned wins in their respective singles draws, while a doubles team advanced to the Championship Semifinals, to pace the Diplomats at this past weekend's ITA Southeast Regional Championships hosted by Mary Washington.

Gavriel Rubenstein won four matches, including a 6-1, 6-0 sweep in the finals to earn the Blue 4 Singles Championship. Alex Collins was dominant in the Blue 6 Singles bracket with four straight-set victories to take home the title, while Allysan Breece also picked up four straight-set wins to record the Blue 7 Singles Championship for the Diplomats.
In Championship Doubles, Nicole Russo and Allison Wolters teamed up to form a daunting pair, earning three straight wins to advance to the Semifinals. However, the duo's impressive run came to an end with an 8-2 defeat against a team from Mary Washington.
Russo also garnered a Championship Singles win for F&M with a 7-5, 6-3 sweep in her opening round match. Wolters won a pair of contests in the bracket before bowing out in the Quarterfinals, while C.J. Rummelsburg was successful in her Round of 64 match with a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
In Blue 1 Singles, Tara Buchney edged her opponent by a 4-6, 6-3, 10-2 margin before teaming up with Rummelsburg in the Blue 1 Doubles draw for a pair of wins to reach the Semifinals.
Breece and Rubenstein also competed in the bracket, falling in their opening round, but bouncing back with a pair of victories in the consolation draw.
F&M is set to resume its 2016-17 season in February.
