LANCASTER, Pa. – Three Franklin & Marshall women's tennis players were named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) Team, announced by the league office on Monday. Nicole Russo earned a spot on first team singles, the duo of Caitlin Rummelsburg and Sara Haas were named first team doubles, while Rummlesburg also landed on second team singles.
Russo (Livingston, N.J. / Livingston) garners first team honors for the second consecutive year. The Diplomats' No. 1 singles player went 12-5, including an 8-2 mark in the conference. Russo ended the season with eight straight victories and retired her opponent in straight sets nine times during the season.
Rummelsburg (Fairfield, Conn. / Greens Farms Academy) and Haas (Larchmont, N.Y. / Mamaroneck) teamed at No. 1 doubles to collect a 9-5 record on the season, including a 6-3 mark in conference action. Rummelsburg was named to an All-CC doubles first team for the second time in her career, after making the list with Anya Sahaydachny last year.
Rummelsburg also made her way on second team singles for the second year-in-a-row, leading F&M with a 13-4 record. She went an impressive 9-1 in CC play and recorded a 9-2 record at the No. 2 spot in the lineup.
The Diplomats finished 2015 with a 12-5 record and competed in the CC Semifinals for the second straight year, falling to Washington by a 6-1 score.
