LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team's memorable season came to an end in the Centennial Conference (CC) Semifinals with a narrow 5-3 loss to Haverford on Saturday afternoon in Lancaster. The loss brought the Diplomats' record to 13-6 on the season, while the Fords moved to 12-4 and continue on into tomorrow's finals to face off against No. 1 Johns Hopkins.
The 13 wins on the year for F&M are the most for the program since 1998 as F&M reached the postseason for the first time since 2007.
In singles play, F&M picked up victories from Caitlin Rummelsburg at No. 1 (3-6, 6-2, 7-5) and Gruenberg at the No. 4 spot (6-7 (1-7), 6-4, 6-2). Anya Sahaydachny battled from the No. 2 position in the lineup, earning a 6-4 win in the first set before falling in the next two (6-2, 6-4).
