FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Megan FitzMaurice and Dana Sleeper won the Blue 2 doubles draw to lead a group of six individuals that represented the Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships hosted by Mary Washington University last weekend.
The tournament included a Championship bracket, which featured multiple nationally ranked players, then five "Blue" singles and three "Blue" doubles brackets below that.
FitzMaurice and Sleeper, both freshmen, defeated three teams on their way to the Blue 2 doubles crown. The duo took down Ally McConaughy and Olivia Stone from Bridgewater, 8-2, in the quarterfinals, before downing Christopher Newport's Kim Morrissett and Jodi Noland, 8-4, to advance to the finals.
