Diplomats Dominate Terror

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team picked up its first victory of the season with a 7-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) action Tuesday afternoon.  F&M improved to 1-10, 1-4 CC while the Green Terror fell to 1-10, 1-4 CC.

Anya Sahaydachny and Danielle Weiner started off with an 8-0 victory in No. 1 doubles action. Valeri Harteg and Shannon Littlefield put the Diplomats up 2-0 with an 8-3 victory over Sara Yost and Devan Hamric.

Sahaydachny defeated Brittany Starlings 6-1, 6-2, to start off singles action.  Weiner picked up a 6-0, 6-1 over Hamric at the number two singles spot. Harteg did not give up a set with a 6-0, 6-0, win at number three singles and Littlefield cruised to a 6-1, 6-0, win over Carissa Grove. Chelsea Bush closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the number five spot.

F&M returns to action on Saturday with 1 p.m. match at Swarthmore.
