LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's swimming team is set to open its 2018-19 season on Saturday, hosting a quad-meet with York, Widener, and Mary Washington. The Diplomats look to continue their development as one of the top programs in the Centennial Conference (CC) after finishing fourth at last year's championships.

After losing four to graduation, an eight-member class of first years looks to make an immediate impact, especially in sprints and relays.
Janashree Jonnalagadda – So.
Leah Williamson – Jr.
Erin Fago – Jr.
Katherine Hirsch – Jr.
Jonnalagadda, Williamson, and Fago were all members of the 200-yard medley relay team that set a program record on the first day of CC Champs with a 1:48.68 finish last year. The trio looks to build off that strong chemistry as well as to podium in their individual events this year.
Hirsch enters her junior season looking to continue to develop as a mid-distance freestyler and IM participant after notching a top-finish in the quad-meet against Dickinson, Cabrini, and SUNY New Paltz on Feb. 3 last season.
The CC Preseason Poll ranks the Diplomats fourth with 29 points. Ursinus was picked to repeat with 47 points and five of eight first-place votes, followed by Gettysburg in second with 44 points and two first-place nods, and Swarthmore with 38 points and one first-place vote.
After opening weekend, CC competition starts on Friday, Oct. 26 when the Diplomats host Washington for a 7:00 p.m. dual meet. F&M hits the road in early November, facing off against Swarthmore on Nov. 2 and Arcadia on Nov. 10.
On Nov. 16-18, the annual Franklin & Marshall Invitational will take place at the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center, while the CC Championships are heading back to Gettysburg and are set to run from Feb. 21-24.
A continued feature to this year's schedule is the "Add to Calendar" button, which allows fans to sync new events and updates directly in their Google, Exchange, Yahoo, Outlook, ICal and additional calendars.
