Meyers Opens Competition at NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Franklin & Marshall's Becca Meyers began competition at the NCAA Swimming Championships on Wednesday morning, taking part in the preliminaries of the 500-yard freestyle. The junior just missed out on advancing to tonight's finals after qualifying 25th.

Meyers entered the event as the 24th seed with a time of 4:59.51. Her preliminary time of 5:02.29 placed her 25th after the qualifiers, just missing out on the top 16 slots that advance to the finals tonight during the day's second session.

The Baltimore native returns to the pool tomorrow morning for the preliminaries of the 200-yard freestyle. That session is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
