Grant Competes in 1650-Free Championship Final

SHENANDOAH, Texas – Katherine Grant closed out the final day of the NCAA Championships by resetting her own school record in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:10.44 to place 13th in the event. Sarah Thompson of Williams took home the championship at 16:31.60.

In addition to the 1650 free, Grant set a career-best time in the 500-yard freestyle on Wednesday by touching the wall at 4:59.85 to receive All-America Honorable Mention honors for both events. On Thursday, she competed in the 200-yard freestyle but missed out on the finals after touching the wall at 1:56.04.

Adding to the list of accomplishments Grant achieved over the course of the four-day event, she became the first F&M women's swimmer since Brittany McCabe in 2009 to place in the championships.
