LANCASTER, Pa. – Seven members of the Franklin & Marshall women's swimming team advanced into tonight's day two finals of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships.
A pair of Diplomats advanced to the 400-yard individual medley final as Maggie Johns recorded the second-fastest time at 4:45.42, followed by Caitlyn Fuller in seventh with a time of 4:50.15. Reaching the consolations for F&M was Kasey Christiansen with the 10th-fastest time at 4:53.62 along with Charlotte Katter in 15th at 4:57.42.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Courtney Collins advanced to the finals with the fourth-fastest time at 1:01.07. Teammate Stephanie Brooks edged into tonight's finals as well with a seventh-place finish at 1:01.69. Jackie Behr reached the consolations with a 13th-place finish and a time of 1:02.42.
Krista Hollingsworth and Katherine Grant both advance for F&M into tonight's 200-yard freestyle final by swimming the fourth and sixth fastest time, respectively. Hollingsworth touched the wall at 1:57.33, followed by Grant at 1:57.36
F&M was unable to place any swimmers into the 100-yard breaststroke finals, however Rebecca Citti and Meghan Hershey earned a spot in the consolations. Citti finished with the 11th-fastest time at 1:11.67, followed by Hershey in 13th with a time of 1:12.11.
Collins earned a spot in the 100-yard backstroke after swimming the fourth-fastest time at 1:01.77. Teammate Taylor Mateja finished in 13th to advance to the consolation event with a time of 1:02.86.
Day two finals will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m. where medals will be awarded in the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke and the 800-yard freestyle relay.
