Diplomats Sit in Second After Day Two

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's swimming team remains in second place after day two of the F&M Invitational. The Diplomats have accumulated 303 points and trail only California University of Pennsylvania, who has 375 points.

Katherine Grant earned a win in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.41, while Krista Hollingsworth finished in fourth with a time of 1:57.87.

Jackie Behr placed seventh in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.58. In the next event, Maggie Johns earned a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:44.15.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Stephanie Brooks led F&M with a seventh-place finish after touching the wall in 1:02.45. Teammate Courtney Collins placed eighth with a time of 1:03.16.

Rebecca Citti swam to a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 2:32.62. In the next event, Taylor Mateja placed sixth with a time of 1:02.92 in the 100-yard backstroke followed by Hollingsworth, who finished seventh with a time of 1:03.06.

In the 800-yard freestyle, a team of Grant, Johns, Hollingsworth and Alexia Tomlinson took the victory after finishing the event with a time of 7:58.46.

The Diplomats wrap up the F&M Invitational tomorrow with finals set for 5:00 p.m. The list of events include the 500 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 200 individual medley and the 400 free relay.
