LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's swimming team cruised past Washington College 130-65 on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) swimming action. The victory improves the Diplomats' record to 3-2, 2-1 CC, while the Shorewomen fall to 1-3, 0-2 CC.
Grant picked up her first win of the day in the 1000-yard freestyle when she touched the wall first with a time of 10:51.50. Her second victory came in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:22.28.
Hollingsworth led a pack of F&M swimmers in the 50-yard freestyle, winning the race with a time of 25.38. Teammate Jackie Behr finished second with a time of 25.95 and Kendra Poitier rounded out the top three with a time of 26.54. Hollingsworth was also a member of the 400-yard medley relay team that placed first with a time of 4:13.03. Taylor Mateja, Rebecca Citti and Courtney Collins rounded out the squad.
Johns picked up her wins in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.57 and the 200-yard butterfly with a time 2:16.08.
Also winning an individual race for the Diplomats was Caitlyn Fuller who placed first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:20.15.
F&M returns to the pool on Nov. 30th when the Diplomats host the F&M Invitational. The first series of races are set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
