Diplomats Come up Short in Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Franklin & Marshall's No. 20 women's squash team opened day one of the Mid-Atlantic Championships with a pair of losses against No. 9 Virginia (9-0) and No. 15 George Washington (8-1).

The Diplomats fell to 5-9 overall on the year.

Each of the nine contests on the ladder resulted in straight-game sweeps for the Cavaliers. The opening frames of the No. 5 and No. 6 contests were neck-and-neck as Melissa Epstein dropped a narrow 13-11 game and Grace Smith fell just short at 12-10.
