LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 14 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team will compete in the Kurtz Cup (B Division) at the 2016 Collegiate Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships, hosted by Yale this weekend. The Diplomats begin action on Friday against No. 11 Brown in the first round at 6:00 p.m.
Kurtz Cup History
F&M takes part in the Kurtz Cup, an annual matchup of the nation's No. 9-16 teams, for the second consecutive year and third time since 2013. Last season, the No. 14 Diplomats went 0-2 in the bracket, falling to No. 11 Brown by a 6-3 margin and No. 16 Drexel by an 8-1 score.
The Diplomats are seeking their first-ever Kurtz Cup Championship in the three-day tournament.
A Look at the Bracket
Friday's matchup against Brown is the first of the season between both schools. F&M holds an 8-6 record in the overall series but has fallen in three straight, including last season's loss in the opening round of the 2015 Kurtz Cup.
The winner advances to face either No. 10 Drexel or No. 15 Middlebury. Dartmouth (No. 9) enters action as the top seed. The championship match of the eight-team bracket is slated for a 2:00 p.m. start on Sunday.
