LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's soccer team kicks off its 2017 season with an opening-weekend home stand, hosting a pair of NCAA qualifiers at Tylus Field. F&M displays the characteristics of a team on the rise, entering 2017 on the heels of the program's highest win total since 2011 after wrapping up last season with a 7-9-1 overall mark. The goal of obtaining a Centennial Conference (CC) Playoff birth for the first time since 2011 appears to be a realistic one, with six key seniors returning to the fold and a 13-member freshman class, which includes several impact players, joining the mix.

A historically-great defense that recorded the best goals against average mark in program history at 0.80 in 2016 should once again figure prominently into the Diplomats' success, despite the loss of such key members as Sarah Mischianti '17, an All-CC Honorable Mention defender, and goalkeeper Nicole Savidge '17, who started 13 games in net.
Players to Watch
F – Reanna Leoni – Sr.
M/F – Kyra Judge – Sr.
M/D – Isabella Raspa – Sr.
M – Sabrina Graziano – Jr.
M – Lauren Kranis – Jr.
D – Nicolette Runko – Soph.
Leoni is expected to lead the offensive unit following a 12-point junior campaign that saw the dynamic forward tally a team-leading five goals to go along with two assists. Judge adds another scoring dimension on the wing and was second on the Diplomats with three goals and an assist, while Kranis is being looked to as an anchor for the midfield. Runko's impressive first-year campaign saw the freshman defender receive All-CC Honorable Mention after starting all 17 contests.
The Road Ahead
Following the difficult opening weekend pair of games, F&M faces three more non-conference foes before kicking off the CC schedule at home on Saturday, Sept. 16 against Muhlenberg at 3:00 p.m. Conference Playoffs open with the First Round on Wednesday, Nov. 1, with the CC Championship slated for Sunday, Nov. 5.
A continued feature to this year's schedule is the "Add to Calendar" button, which allows fans to sync new events and updates directly in their Google, Exchange, Yahoo, Outlook, ICal and additional calendars.
