Diplomats Stay Unbeaten in CC Action with Win over Muhlenberg

LANCASTER, Pa. — No. 4 Franklin & Marshall picked up a 15-4 win over Muhlenberg to finish the regular season unbeaten in Centennial Conference at 9-0 with a 14-3 overall Mark. The Mules fell to 8-8, 3-6 CC.

Prior to the start of the game, F&M honored its six-member senior class of Sarah BrookeMaddie HughesCaroline KolvaJulia McKayBridget O'Donnell, and Maura Smith.

After an early goal by the Mules, F&M netted 11 unanswered points and took an 11-1 mark into the break. The scoring slowed in the second, with the Diplomats outscoring Muhlenberg 4-3 in the final frame to secure the win. 

Marissa McGarrey led all scorers with four goals, while Grace Norley ended with two goals and three helpers and Ally Marino had a goal with two assists. Maisie O'Shea, Nancy Taylor, Caroline Kolva, Tabitha Rodriguez, and Juliann Lisovicz all had one goal. 

Helen Mackay caused two turnovers to lead the defense and Emily Kitchin improved to 8-0 with eight saves in net. 

F&M had a 26-20 edge in shots, led draws 16-5 and went 12-for-14 in clear attempts.

The Diplomats return to action next Saturday when F&M hosts the Final Four of the 2019 Centennial Conference Championship. Opponent and game times will be decided next week.
