CARLISLE, Pa. — No. 4 Franklin & Marshall secured the top seed in the Centennial Conference (CC) Playoffs with a 9-7 win over Dickinson on Wednesday afternoon. The Diplomats remained unbeaten in CC action at 8-0 with a 13-3 overall mark. The Red Devils fell to 10-5, 5-3 CC.
F&M took an early 2-0 lead 10 minutes into the game and after a Dickinson goal, netted three straight for a 5-1 lead at 2:35. The Red Devils put one board in the final two minutes to make it 5-2 at the break. Dickinson came within two, 5-3, 31 seconds into the second half, and F&M countered with four straight for a 9-3 at 16:16. The Red Devils responded with four unanswered to close out the game.
Megan Jackson paced the offense with three goals, while Maisie O'Shea, Caroline Kolva, Tabitha Rodriguez, Juliann Lisovicz, Ally Marino, and Maddie Hughes all struck once. Emily Kitchin improved to 7-0 with nine saves in the cage.
F&M owned shots at 28-21, and had a 12-10 edge in ground balls, while going 18-for-21 in clear attempts.
The Diplomats close out the regular season on Saturday when F&M hosts Muhlenberg at 12:00 p.m.
