Diplomats Win 2005 Franklin & Marshall Spring Women's Golf Invitational

MILLERSVILLE, PA -- Jessica Kunkle (Sr., Centre Hall, PA/State College) carded a 94 to earn medalist honors and lead the Franklin & Marshall College women's golf team to a first place finish at the 2005 F&M Spring Invitational at Crossgates Golf Course.

The Diplomats finished with a team score of 454 as Simi Sandhu (So., Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) shot 108, Meaghan Eyler (Fr., Catoctin, MD) carded a 114 and Maura Lentz (Sr., Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) finished with a 138.

Susquehanna University finished second in the tournament with a 468, while Dickinson College brought three golfers and did not score as a team.

The win marks the first since April 22, 2002 when the Diplomats won the 2002 Franklin & Marshall Invitational by a 422 to 478 final over Gettysburg College.

Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on April 30-May 2 at the Centennial Conference Golf Championships hosted at Heritage Hills Golf Course in York.
