Diplomats Tie Dickinson in Match Play


CARLISLE, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's women's golf team went head to head with Dickinson on Sunday at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course, tying the Red Devils in match play by a 2-2 score. 

Megan Whittier was dominant against Kiara Smith by winning nine holes, losing none and tying a pair to deliver a point to the Diplomats' team tally at the par-72, 5,827-yard course. 

Ember Toth also rolled past Dickinson's Macia Qi with a 10-0 shutout to hand F&M its other team point. Jamila Gowdy went wire to wire with the Red Devils' Olivia Brown as Gowdy won five holes, lost six holes and was even on seven.

Maddy Markmann-Porch also provided a valiant effort against Rachel Czerna but narrowly fell short after besting her opponent on six holes, dropping seven, and matching strokes on five.
