Diplomats Produce Strong Showing at McDaniel Tri-Match


HANOVER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's women's golf team battled at Sunday's McDaniel Fall Tri-Match, registering a second-place finish out of three teams at the par-71, 5,877-yard South Hills Golf Club course.

The Diplomats combined to card a 428 team total, placing behind Gettysburg in first with a 398. McDaniel rounded out the team scoring with a 474.

Ember Toth produced F&M's lowest round on the day by shooting a 103 to place fifth out of 14 competitors. Teammate Maddy Markmann-Porch was close behind in sixth with a 107. Jamila Gowdy and Megan Whittier tied for seventh with identical rounds of 109, while Olivia Tufano totaled a 130 on the day. 

Gettysburg's Gillian Marini shot the low round at 90, followed by McDaniel's Kelsey Kirman (93), and the Bullets' Cameron D'Amica in third (94).

The Diplomats' fall season concludes on Sunday, Sept. 30 when F&M competes in the Millersville Invitational at Tangle Wood Manor.
