LEBANON, Pa. – Anelise Browne paced Franklin & Marshall's women's golf team with a third-place finish out of 35 competitors at Saturday's Lady Dutchmen Fall Invitational.
Browne tied with Stevenson's Morgan Wirtz after each carded an 86 at the par-72, Lebanon Country Club course. However, Browne had to settle for third after Wirtz earned the tiebreaker by shooting a lower score on the 11th hole. Alvernia's Emily Gilbert secured the title with an 84.
The result ended an impressive fall season for Browne, who produced an 82.6 stroke average through five rounds and four top-five finishes in four events.
As a team, the Diplomats totaled a 406 on the day, finishing ahead of Misericordia in fifth with a 436. Stevenson was awarded the team total after accumulating a 358 on the day.
Sarah Acquaviva was F&M's next-highest finisher, carding a 102 to place 16th. Ember Toth tied for 19th with a 107 while Megan Whittier shot a 111 to tie for 22nd. Olivia Tufano rounded out the Diplomats' competitors at the event with a 134.
F&M is set to return to action in the spring.
