HARRISBURG, Pa. – Anelise Browne led Franklin & Marshall's women's golf team with a second place finish out of 22 competitors at the second and final day of the Penn State-Harrisburg Invitational. The Diplomats placed fourth out of four competing teams after combining for an 811 total (420-391).
Browne shot a 161 (81-80) at the two-day event after shaving one stroke off her day one score. She finished just two strokes off the lead with Penn State-Harrisburg's Allison Cooper securing the title with a 159 (80-79).
Sarah Acquaviva was the next-highest finisher for F&M after carding a 208 (108-100), followed by Megan Whittier, who knocked 121 strokes off her Saturday total to place 18th with a 221 (121-100). Ember Toth notched a 226 (115-111) while Olivia Tufano collected a 251 (116-135) to round out the Diplomats' scorers.
Gettysburg earned the team title with a 730 (368-362) while Eastern placed second with 772 strokes (392-380) and York was third with 787 strokes (395-392).
The fall portion of F&M's schedule continues Saturday at the ACE Club when the Diplomats compete against Arcadia and Philadelphia University.
