Browne Tied For Fourth After Day 1

STEVENS, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Anelise Browne carded an 85 to place in a tie for fourth place after round one at Saturday's Centennial Conference (CC) Women's Golf Championship.

The Diplomats combined to shoot a 410 to place sixth out of seven teams heading into tomorrow's final round at the Par-72, 5,801-yard course at Foxchase Golf Club in Stevens. Six-time defending champion Gettysburg holds a 24-stroke lead over the field after totaling a 328, a CC tournament-record. 

Browne's day was highlighted by a birdie on the par-4, 17th hole. Gettysburg's Sarah Hansen, the defending champion, leads the 32-player field after carding a 75, tying a 13-year record for the lowest round at the Championship, while Muhlenberg's Aine Filler is in second after firing an 81.   

Ember Toth had a solid first round for F&M, placing 25th with a 101. Megan Whittier (103) and Harriet Waldron (123) rounded out the Diplomats' scorers.
