Behind the impressive play of one of the Centennial Conference's top women's golfers, Franklin & Marshall proved to be competitive throughout the season and secured its second consecutive fourth-place showing at the CC Championships.
Kathleen Smith '16 placed second after carding a 160 (83-77) at the two-day event. Her finish was the highest for a Diplomat since 2010, as Smith became the program's 10th All-CC member and the first in five years.
Smith excelled throughout her junior campaign, placing in the top 10 in all seven events she participated in, and taking the individual title at the Lebanon Valley Invite in April, after pacing the field with an 84 to finish first out of 30 competing golfers. F&M combined for a 392 total at the event, good for a third-place showing out of six teams.
Following Smith's team-leading 83.6 stroke average on the year, Bridget Falcone '17 was next with a 99.8 average through five rounds, followed by Ann Hagner '17 with a 104 through five rounds and Lauren Caffee '15 with a 105.1 through seven rounds.
