HARRISBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Kathleen Smith tied for the lowest score on day two, leading the women's golf team with a second-place finish at the 2015 Centennial Conference (CC) Championship at Blue Ridge Country Club in Harrisburg. The Diplomats placed fourth as a team, tallying 760 points (381-379) at the two-day event.
With the top-five finish, Smith landed on the All-CC Team, the first for F&M since Meghan Maloney and Grace Gallagher in 2010. On Sunday, Smith carded a 77 to give her a two-day total of 160 and shaving six strokes off her day one score. Gettysburg's Samantha Sessa claimed the title with a 157 (80-77), becoming the first freshman in conference history to win the tournament.
Gettysburg won its fifth consecutive championship, registering a 668 total (332-336), followed by Dickinson in second with a 698 (352-346) and McDaniel in third with a 704 (351-353).
Lauren Caffee tallied the next-lowest score for the Diplomats, shooting a 197 (98-99) for 18th out of 32 competing golfers. Bridget Falcone was close behind, placing 19th with a 198 total (98-100). Ann Hagner also competed for F&M, recording a two-day total of 205 (102-103).
