LEBANON, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Kathleen Smith earned her first individual tournament title of the year, carding an 84 on Sunday at the LVC Women's Spring Invitational to finish first out of 30 competing golfers.
The Diplomats combined to total a 392, registering a third-place showing out of six teams at the Lebanon Country Club on the par-75, 5,352-yard course. Stevenson took the team title with a 377, followed by LVC in second with a 389. Alvernia (399), Manhattanville (402) and Misericordia (477) rounded out the scores on the day.
Smith won the title on a tiebreak after Manhattanville's Gabriela Estevez also tallied an 84. F&M's Bridget Falcone and Ann Hagner placed in a tie for 12th by each shooting a 99. Lauren Caffee rounded out the Diplomats' competitors with a 110.
F&M concludes the regular season tomorrow by taking part in the Gettysburg Invitational, which is being held at the Hanover Country Club. The tournament is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start.
