Series History

The No. 7 Diplomats begin their week with their toughest challenge of the season thus far, hitting the road to face No. 13 Messiah Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. F&M has fallen short in the last four matchups with the Falcons, but the largest margin of victory in any of those games has been just two goals.

F&M travels to Swarthmore in a 1:00 p.m. tilt with the Garnet on Saturday. The Diplomats have won the last 11 games with Swarthmore, along with 14 of the last 15 and 17 of the last 19 since 2000.

Last Week

Among the Leaders (CC)

Lily Mynott leads the CC in scoring with 12 goals and 26 points, both first in the Conference.

Christina Seery is second in the CC in save percentage (.870), goals against (3), and goals-against average (0.39).

F&M puts more pressure on opposing goalkeepers than anyone in the CC, leading the Conference with 204 shot attempts and 25.5 shot attempts per game.

The Diplomats have allowed the fewest goals in the Conference, surrendering just four.

Among the Leaders (NCAA)

Through Sept. 29th, F&M has the sixth-best average scoring margin in the NCAA with 3.83 and averages the second-most penalty corners with 13.83 per game.

Lily Mynott's 1.83 goals per game is good for second in the NCAA.

Christina Seery is 10th in the NCAA with 0.53 goals-against average.


F&M was selected as the No. 7 team in all of Division III in the third NFHCA poll of the regular season, moving up one spot from last week's poll. The Diplomats were selected to finish second in the CC in the 2019 Centennial Conference Field Hockey Preseason Poll. Johns Hopkins was selected to repeat as CC Champions, receiving 99 total points, including eight first-place votes. F&M's Hot Start

The Diplomats are off to an 8-0 start to the season, the best start by the program since an 8-0 start in 2014. F&M began the 2011 season with an 11-0 record, the best start in program history.

Record Book Watch

Erin Coverdale has 50 career goals and is fourth in program history. She is two away from entering the top-three in F&M history, and four away from becoming the record-holder. Coverdale has 20 career assists, tied for sixth in program history, and is two away from moving into a tie for fifth in program history.

Caitlin Morrissey has six penalty stroke conversions in her career, which is second in program history. The F&M record is 10 (Annie Horsley '18).

Lily Mynott has scored 29 career goals, 14th in F&M history. Ten more goals will put her into the top-10 in program history.

Coverdale Breaks Game-Winner Record

Erin Coverdale broke the F&M record for career game-winners when she notched her 15th and 16th career game-winners against Lebanon Valley (9/11) and Mary Washington (9/14), passing Sydney Cole '18.
