LANCASTER, Pa. – Four franklin & Marshall field hockey members earned a spot on the 2015 All-Centennial Conference (CC) Team, announced by the league office on Friday. Maria Guarisco and Mary Kate Olson both landed on the first team, while Bridget Falcone nabbed second team accolades and Anne Horsley received honorable mention.
Head Coach Melissa Mariano was also recognized, being named the CC Coach of the Year for the second time in her career, with the other coming in 2011.

Guarisco (Cranford, N.J. / Cranford) is one of only 18 players, along with Olson, to receive first time honors three times. The senior midfielder was a unanimous selection for the second straight year after leading the No. 5 Diplomats and placing fourth in the conference in points (39), sixth in goals (15) and third in assists (9). She has five game-winning markers on the season and has registered a point in all but four contests.
Olson (Woodbine, Md. / Glenelg) also garnered a first team accolade for the third consecutive year and was a unanimous selection for the second straight season. The senior defender has led a defensive unit that ranks fourth in the nation in shutouts per game (55 percent), and 9th in goals against average (0.84). Olson has tallied two goals and two assists on the season.
Falcone (New Canaan, Conn. / New Canaan) earned All-CC recognition for the first time in her career after starting all 20 of the Diplomats' contests on the year as a defender. She has helped key a unit that has allowed a conference low 17 goals, while shutting out the opposition 11 times.
Horsley (Pennington, N.J. / The Pennington School) also nabbed a spot for the first time in her career, tallying three goals and four assists through 20 starts on the year. The sophomore midfielder registered a pair of goals, including the game winner against Johns Hopkins in a 4-0 win on Oct. 7.
Mariano led her team to the NCAA postseason for the second consecutive year and fourth time during her tenure at F&M. She became the program's all-time winningest coach in 2013 and has accumulated a 113-40 record through her eight seasons at the helm.
The Diplomats downed Cabrini by an 5-0 score on Wednesday in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament and advance to face off against Middlebury on Saturday in Geneva, N.Y. The contest, hosted by William Smith, is set for a 2:00 p.m. start.
