Series History: Franklin & Marshall (10-0, 5-0 CC) looks to remain unbeaten with contests at No. 12 Messiah (7-2) and Muhlenberg (4-6, 3-2 CC) this week.

F&M and Messiah will square off for the 29th time on Wednesday in non-conference play, with the Falcons holding an 18-6-4 series advantage. The Diplomats captured the most recent meeting with a 1-0 triumph on Sept. 27 of last year.

The Diplomats and Mules will clash for the 22nd time in a CC showdown on Saturday. F&M carries a 14-6-1 series edge and a four-game winning streak into the contest, including a 3-1 victory on Oct. 13 of last season.

Last Week: F&M took down Johns Hopkins and Haverford by identical 3-0 scores last week to remain perfect on the year. Katie Cecere tallied a pair of first half scores to lift the Diplomats past Hopkins, while Maria Guarisco put the finishing touches on the win with a goal in the 69th minute of play.

Against Haverford, the Diplomats put together a balanced scoring attack to run past the visiting Fords. Cecere and Audrey Buckman registered first half goals, while Guarisco tallied a score in the 61st minute for the final 3-0 margin of victory.

Goalkeeper Avery Koep tallied four saves in the win over Hopkins, and was unchallenged in the victory over Haverford as F&M's defensive backline limited the Fords to just four total shots and none on goal.

In the Rankings: The Diplomats claimed the No. 1 spot in this week's Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Poll after spending one week in the No. 2 position. F&M has been ranked in the top 10 of the poll the entire year. Ursinus climbed into this week's rankings at No. 19, marking the first time another CC foe has made it into the national top 20 this season.

Among the Elite: As a team, the Diplomats rank second in the nation in goals against average (0.5) and third in shutouts per game (0.6). Goalkeeper Avery Koep also rates second in goals against average (0.46).

CC Winning Streak: With a 5-0 start in CC play, the Diplomats have now secured 28 straight CC regular season contests dating all the way back to the 2010 season. F&M's winning streak is now tied for second all-time in CC history with Ursinus (2007-11), and behind only the Bears stretch of 44-straight conference wins from 2003-07.

Fast Starters: For the second time in the last three years, the Diplomats have reeled off an impressive winning streak to begin the year. F&M's 10-0 mark so far in 2013 ranks as the second best start in program history, behind only the 2011 squad's 11-0 start.

Climbing the Charts: Head coach Melissa Mariano continues to inch closer to school record in coaching wins. Mariano has amassed 71 career coaching wins, leaving her just five shy of tying Sue Kloss for all-time mark. Kloss led the Diplomats from 1981-87, totaling 76 career victories.
