Series History: F&M begins Centennial Conference (CC) play this week with a pair of road contests. The Diplomats open their CC slate on Wednesday at Swarthmore (2-4, 0-0 CC), before traveling to Ursinus (2-1, 1-0 CC) on Saturday. F&M (4-0, 0-0 CC) carries a five-game winning streak and a 12-10-1 series record into Wednesday's matchup against the Garnet. Ursinus holds a 21-4 edge in the all-time series, but the Diplomats have taken two straight, including a 2-0 triumph in last year's CC semifinals.

Last Week: The Diplomats remained unbeaten with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Lebanon Valley last Friday. After a scoreless opening 55 minutes of play, the Diplomats broke through a tough LVC defense with just under nine minutes remaining in regulation. Maria Guarisco ripped a shot that deflected off a defender's leg into the cage to give F&M the 1-0 victory. The F&M defense was effective once again as the Diplomats held the Dutchmen to just two shots and one penalty corner.

In the Rankings: After spending last week at the No. 8 spot in the rankings, F&M moved up one position to No. 7 in this week's Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Poll. The Diplomats are the only CC team currently in the top-20.

Climbing the Charts: After last week's victory over Lebanon Valley, head coach Melissa Mariano has now amassed 65 career coaching wins, leaving her just one shy of moving into a second-place tie in the F&M record book. Melissa Reiss, who coached at F&M from 1999-2005, has 66 wins, while Sue Kloss, who led the Diplomats from 1981-87, totaled 76 victories in her coaching career to sit atop the list.
