PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – A trio of boats provided strong showings for Franklin & Marshall's women's rowing team at Saturday's Kerr Cup in Philadelphia.

The Diplomats' Varsity 4+ boat of Emilie MacDonald (coxswain), Rebecca McCain (4), Teresa Chappell (3), Annette Von Jaglinsky (2) and Leah Issokson captured second place out of six boats with a time of 8:57.15. North Park led the way with a time of 8:38.63.
F&M's First Varsity 8+ boat of Kelly Minard (coxswain), Katie Benham (8), Paige Alexander (7), Teresa Chappell (6), Liz Brodie (5), Margaret Stoner (4), Annette Von Jaglinsky (3), Leah Issokson (2), and Helen Nelson (1) also took second in their race with a time of 7:58.91. MARC-rival Washington College won the event with a time of 7:41.21.
The Second Varsity 8+ boat of Dori Coplan (coxswain), Rebecca McCain (8), Sam Hershey (7), Grace Berg (6), Madeline Cook (5), Emilie MacDonald (4), Shannon Cunningham (3), Kayleigh Rine (2), and Sarah Labovitz (1) also competed in the race and secured fifth with a time of 8:45.89.
The Diplomats also had a boat that competed at the Knecht Cup in West Windsor, N.J. on Saturday evening. In the DIII Varsity 4+ event, a team of Dori Coplan (coxswain), Katie Benham (4), Liz Brodie (3), Margaret Stoner (2) and Helen Nelson (1) placed third out of seven competitors with a time of 9:08.43. Bowdoin won the race at 8:48.54.
Day two of the Knecht Cup on Sunday was canceled due to high winds. F&M returns to competition on Saturday, April 28 at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships in Lewisberry.
