Women’s Rowing Take a Pair of Races

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's rowing team continued its early season success on Saturday in Philadelphia, winning two of the three races the Diplomats participated in. The event featured competition amongst boats from La Salle, Philadelphia University and fellow MARC opponent Washington College.

F&M was victorious in the 2 Varsity 8 boat when Bonnie Sullivan (coxswain), Jamie Davidow (8), Caroline Stolfi (7), Rachel Topper (6), Annette Von Jaglinsky (5), Helen Nelson (4), Margaret Stoner (3), Rebecca McCain (2) and Anna Berrettini (1) also crossed the line first, beating out Washington College. 

A boat of Emilie MacDonald (coxswain), Katherine Cousart (4), Allison Hoffmann (3), Sarah Nelson (2) and Teresa Chappell (1) took part in the Varsity 4+ race to capture first out of the four participating schools.

In the 1 Varsity 8 race, a boat of Kathryn Benedetto (coxswain), Katherine Cousart (8), Allison Hoffmann (7), Sarah Nelson (6), Teresa Chappell (5), Jessica Radlo (4), Erin Smith (3), Jillian Goss-Holmes (2) and Leah Issokson (1) secured first place out of the four participants but was later disqualified for gaining an unfair advantage during their course.

Action continues for F&M next weekend when the Diplomats travel to West Windsor, N.J. to participate in the Knecht Cup on April 9-10.
