Women’s Varsity 8 Claims Title at Kerr Cup

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Just one week away from the 2015 Middle Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships, Franklin & Marshall's varsity 8+ boat looks to be hitting its stride, taking the title on Saturday at the Kerr Cup on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. 

The Diplomats' A boat of Kathryn Benedetto (coxswain), Amalia Hack (8), Allison Hoffmann (7), Katherine Cousart (6), Teresa Chappell (5), Sarah Nelson (4), Larissa Kehne (3), Jamie Davidow (2) and Anna Kohler (1) was impressive, finishing their race in first with a time of 7:16.06. Bryn Mawr was second at 7:18.31, while Haverford was third (7:35.39) and Washington College was fourth (7:44.95). 

F&M also had a B boat compete, but was unable to reach the finals. The team's second varsity 8+ boat of Danae Diaz (coxswain), Maayan Shalvi (8), Annette Von Jaglinsky (7), Rachel Topper (6), Shannon Johnson-Finn (5), Cylena Stewart (4), Kassala Collington (3), Leah Issokson (2) and Emilie MacDonald (1) placed fifth in their heat with a time of 8:23.09. The top three finishers advanced to the final. 

On Saturday, F&M heads to Gifford Pinchot State Park in Lewisberry to compete at the MARC Championships.
