WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Franklin & Marshall's varsity 8+ boat registered a third-place showing out of seven finishers to pace the women's team at the Knecht Cup on Sunday in West Windsor, N.J.
A boat of Kathryn Benedetto (coxswain), Amalia Hack (8), Allison Hoffmann (7), Katherine Cousart (6), Teresa Chappell (5), Sarah Nelson (4), Larissa Kehne (3), Jamie Davidow (2) and Anna Kohler (1) took part in the DIII varsity 8+, finishing with a time of 7:29.26. Washington College led the way at 7:14.80, followed by Marietta in second (7:17.41).
The Diplomats also competed in the DIII second varsity 8+ when a boat of Danae Diaz (coxswain), Maayan Shalvi (8), Annette Von Jaglinsky (7), Rachel Topper (6), Elisabeth Hare (5), Cylena Stewart (4), Kassala Collington (3), Leah Issokson (2) and Emilie MacDonald (1) finished third at 8:55.78. Washington College's A boat captured first at 7:45.08, followed by its B boat in second with a time of 8:55.78.
In the novice 8+ race, a boat of Diaz (coxswain), Topper (8), Von Jaglinsky (7), Stewart (6), Hare (5), Shannon Johnson-Finn (4), Collington (3), Issokson (2) and MacDonald (1) registered a fourth-place showing out of five participating teams, with a time of 8:46.20. Bryn Mawr placed first at 8:03.45.
F&M returns to the water on Saturday, traveling to Philadelphia to compete at the Kerr Cup.
