Varsity 8 Battles in Third-Place Showing

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's rowing team competed against Villanova (D1), and a pair of D2 squads, Philadelphia and Charleston, on Saturday afternoon in Conshohocken, Pa. Numerous events were cancelled due to windy weather conditions. 

The varsity 8 boat of Kathryn Benedetto (coxswain), Amalia Hack (8), Allison Hoffmann (7), Katherine Cousart (6), Teresa Chappell (5), Sarah Nelson (4), Larissa Kehne (3), Jamie Davidow (2), Anna Kohler (1) put forth a solid effort for the Diplomats placing in third, and just five seconds behind first, with a time of 6:56.3. Philadelphia won the race at 6:51.1, while Villanova placed in second, just two seconds ahead of F&M, with a time of 6:54.7. Charleston came in fourth at 7:27.2. 

Action continues on Saturday, when the Diplomats take to the water to compete at the Knecht Cup in West Windsor, N.J.
